WORKSOP GROUP

We are a very lucky group in that we have many experienced leaders who are happy to lead our walks for us.  This means that we can offer a very varied range of walks which covers every Sunday and at least the first Thursday of each month.  In addition to this, we also offer Wednesday evening walks from May through to August.

Our average walk length is 8-10 miles, but we also offer some 6 mile walks, which serve as an ideal introduction to walking, and also walks of up to 15 miles for the more adventurous.

We mostly walk in the Peak District of Derbyshire, but we also do some walks closer to home in Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

We run an informal car share system to try and do our little bit for the environment, aid parking and help drivers’ petrol costs.  Therefore, we always meet for our walks in the Memorial Avenue car park in Worksop.  However, if it is more convenient to go straight to the start of the walk, all we ask is that you contact the leader for details of the starting point and that way we also know that you are coming.

We produce our programme yearly; consequently some alterations are unavoidable although we try to keep these to a minimum.

Do please check the Walks Classification shown below, so as not to overtax yourself, particularly on your initial ventures.

We feel that we’re a friendly group and you would always be made welcome.  We run several social events a year, including weekends away, coach trips, Pie & Pea suppers and an annual Dinner Dance.

Please have a browse through our programme below and we hope to see you soon.

If you would like further details or a hard copy of our programme, please contact Sue Bramley (Chairman) or Elaine Dobson (Membership Secretary) using the contact details below.
