Evening Walks

Meet on Hucknall Market place on Wednesdays at 6.30pm.  Walks are approximately 5 miles or less in length and usually finish at a pub.

Please Note

Members and walkers are reminded that they attend walks in our programme at their own risk.  They should be in a fit state of health, adequately equipped and should take all reasonable care to ensure their own personal safety.

Conduct On Rambles

When walking with the group, please try to make the walk leader's task a little easier by observing these simple rules:

Please inform the walk leader if you intend going straight to the start point.

Do not walk ahead of the leader.

Try to stay in a group.

Cause minimum disturbance to livestock and crops when crossing farmland.

Do not leave litter.

Close all gates behind you.

Keep dogs on a lead.

Tell the walk leader if, for any reason, you decide to leave the main party

Please report all obstructions, broken stiles, ploughed-up footpaths and unofficial diversions to any committee member.

  What To Take On A Walk

The following is a list of items you should consider taking with you on walks:

Always wear comfortable shoes or stout boots

Waterproof clothing

Food and drink

Spare pullover, hat and gloves

Small rucksack

Torch

Compass, and know how to use it

First aid kit

Always have a change of footwear for the return journey

Don't wear jeans - they are very uncomfortable when wet and take a long time to dry out.
